The former Money Order Office and Savings Bank. A six storey rendered brick office building with ground level retail. Designed by Peter Kerr of the Public Works Office in the Free Classical style to harmonise with the nearby General Post Office. It was built by James H Sutherland in 1890. Designed to be virtually fire proof it was severely damaged on the evening of 31 November 1907 when a conflagration destroyed several adjoining warehouses and shops. It remained in use as a telegraph office until the early 1980's. The upper floors were refurbished and subdivided into residential units in 1999 and are currently being used as serviced apartments.
