SPENCER STREET DEVELOPMENT ANNOUNCED:

VicPoliceHQ‘SUPER-COMPLEX’ CONSTRUCTION TO BEGIN NEXT YEAR.

After much speculation it has been announced that the former Australia Post Mail Centre located at 313 Spencer Street (Cnr La Trobe Street) will be redeveloped into the twelve storey ‘super complex’ City West Police station.

Acting Premier and Minister for Police Peter Ryan announced on the 3rd of July that construction will begin next year on the $230 million super complex with a completion date estimated for 2015.

Some owners in neighbouring buildings have expressed dismay over potentially losing views of the Docklands and the bay that are currently being enjoyed.  The possibility of losing afternoon sunlight and privacy has also been raised along with what impact the two year construction will have on owners and their investments.
